Publié le : 13 février 2017

The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance. University of Cambridge Department of Physics

Research Associate/Assistant in ultracold atom experiments

Ref : KA11014 Grade : Research Associate/Assistant

Limit of tenure : initially 2 years (includes probationary period), can be renewed

The Many-body Quantum Dynamics Group (Part of Atomic, Mesoscopic and Optical Physics, AMOP) of the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge, invites applications for 2 postdoctoral research associates to work on experimental studies of many-body quantum dynamics using ultracold atomic gases and optical lattices. The work will focus on the non-equilibrium dynamics of quantum gases in novel optical lattices and other novel geometries and configurations.

The post requires extensive experience in experimental quantum optics or atomic physics. Specific experience with ultracold atoms, optical lattices or other synthetic many-body systems is advantageous. Knowledge of the theory of many-body physics and condensed matter physics is highly desirable, as is experience in numerical modelling and data analysis.

The appointment will be on the Research Associate scale at a level determined by skills and experience. Expenses for travel associated with the project are provided. The proposed starting date for this position is the 1st June 2017, but can be negotiated.
