Atom chips

Atom chip experiments enable the realisation of very strong confinements of ultra-cold atoms, when the atoms are brought close to the current carrying micro-wires that realise the magnetic potential. Those experiments are thus well suited for the investigation of low dimensional gases. On our experiment, we study the physics of one-dimensionnal Bose gases. We developed several tools to probe correlation functions in those gases, which can be used to investigate many aspects of the physics of those gases.
